General
Housing Information
Those needing hotel rooms for the Southern
Baptist Convention Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, June 12-13,
2001, have several options. The Housing Request
Form can be completed, then faxed or mailed; OR reservations can be
made by phone or Internet.
Reservations will be made on a "first-come, first-serve"
basis until all hotel rooms in the housing block are taken. All requests
are being handled by the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors
Bureau/Southern Baptist Convention Housing Bureau through I.T.S. - a new
reservation system.
Opening/Closing Dates
October 1, 2000 is the opening date for reservations. Please
do not submit your housing form until October 1, 2000 or after. All reservations
must be received by the Housing Bureau no later than May 4, 2001. On this
date, any unused rooms will be returned to the hotels.
Confirmations
Confirmation will be mailed, faxed, or e-mailed to you
from the SBC Housing Bureau once your reservation has been secured with
a deposit. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION FROM THE HOTEL. If you
do not receive a confirmation within 2 weeks, please call the SBC Housing
Bureau at 1-800-424-5250.
Changes/Cancellations
All changes and cancellations in hotel reservations must
be made with the SBC Housing Bureau on or before May 4, 2001 to avoid
a $16 processing fee. After May 4, 2001, and prior to 72 hours before
arrival date, changes and cancellations must be made with your assigned
hotel. Any cancellations made within 72 hours of the arrival date will
result in forfeiture of the full deposit.
Group Housing
Reservation requests for 25 or more rooms should be made in writing to
the SBC Housing Coordinator at the Executive Committee at 901 Commerce
Street, Nashville, TN 37203, via e-mail at
lrichmond@sbc.net , or faxed to (615) 742-8919.
Disabled/Special Needs
Disabled persons, or those with special needs, who want
assistance in reserving a room may call the SBC Housing Coordinator at
the Executive Committee in Nashville, TN at (615) 782-8612.
